We have been using the DR-3080CII for nearly a year now and would have no hesitation in recommending it. Scanning our sales orders on completion, with the high speed double-sided A4 scanner, takes no longer than the filing we did previously. Our filing cabinets are empty and everyone has immediate access to the archived information.
With the right software, we use SolarSys Docscan Pro, scanning is almost totally automatic. The document feeder has been faultless (except when we've missed one of the staples), both sides of each sheet are scanned as quickly as one (our software deletes any blank sides), and the resulting scan is automatically numbered and saved onto the file server.
The scanner is quick and needs to be connected to a 'fast' computer or it won't be able to keep up. We have only tried the USB connection, no doubt the SCSI connection would be faster still.
The scanner copes with well with nearly all the A4 documents we use. The occasional A3 we reduce on the photocopier and A5 we enlarge before scanning. We did struggle scanning some very old invoices that were typed onto thin (almost transparent) paper - but Canons Quick Reference Guide does advise avoiding such documents.
Only one fault with the scanner to date, a single pixel failed on the lower sensor array which resulted in a black line down one side of every scan.
Canon's engineer was with us the same day the problem was reported and a new sensor was ordered and fitted promptly.
Overall assessment - the Canon DR-3080CII is quick, compact and quiet enough to use in an office environment we have not regretted choosing it.

Canon scanner is absolutely fine. Use it daily for between 200-1000 forms and it has been totally reliable.

we are really impressed and pleased with their performance, - they are rapid and simple to use and so far have run without a hitch - excellent value for money - I believe all of our offices have bought the same thing now but if we are ever in need of replacements or additional units we will be in touch.
