Should your scanner require new parts, which becomes more likely as the machine gets older, you may be surprised to find out how much they can actually cost. Parts can often exceed the original purchase cost of the machine, especially when including an engineer to fit the parts. Our protection plans will include the cost of all non-consumable parts and repair fees. Many customers think they'll just buy a new machine when theirs breaks down (this too is what the manufacturers will hope). This is a common but expensive approach.
Are there any consequences if you cannot use your scanner for a period of time? If you send your scanner back to the manufacturer for repair this can take several days if not weeks. For business critical machines, we recommend a maintenance contract.
You will have to pay to post your scanner back to the manufacturer should anything go wrong, this can be expensive for heavy machines and generally doesn't include adequate insurance if the goods go missing or are damaged in transit. Purchase one of our maintenance packages and there won’t be any hidden costs.
Duration of cover
The scanner will usually be covered for 12 months with the manufacturer, but faults are more likely to occur as the machine gets older (which is why most manufacturers just support their products for 12 months, in the hope you’ll buy a new machine when it breaks down). We can cover you for up to five years against any repair costs, it works out more economical for you in the long run.
